Privacy Policy
Vail0 Creator Program (creators.vail0.com) · Draft — pending legal review · Last updated 2026-10-04
This policy covers the creator program site at creators.vail0.com only. The Vail0 product at vail0.com has its own privacy policy. Vail0 LLC ("Vail0", "we") is the data controller for the information described here.
1. What we collect
- Application: legal name, email address, country, social platforms and handles, self-reported follower counts, a short description of your audience, your preferred attribution code, whether you are a US person for tax purposes, and (optionally) the referral code of the creator who referred you.
- Account: your login identity (managed by AWS Cognito), leaderboard alias, platform updates, email notification preferences, and follower-count update requests.
- Earnings: sales attributed to your code (product, amount, commission, status), payout records, and leaderboard rankings. We never see the buyer's identity — attribution reaches us as a code on a Stripe payment record.
- Payout setup: your Stripe Connect account ID and the country the account was created with. Identity, bank, and tax details for payouts are collected by Stripe directly and are never stored by us.
- Technical: standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamps) retained by AWS for security and debugging. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
2. Why we use it
- Reviewing your application and operating your creator account (performance of our agreement with you).
- Calculating commission, running the leaderboard, and paying you (performance of the agreement).
- Tax reporting — for example 1099-NEC forms for US creators earning $600 or more in a calendar year (legal obligation).
- Sending transactional email: application decisions, payout confirmations, account changes (performance of the agreement). We do not send marketing email.
- Preventing fraud and enforcing the Program Rules (legitimate interest).
3. Who we share it with
- Stripe — payout processing and identity verification (Stripe Connect). Stripe is an independent controller for the data it collects during onboarding.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, authentication (Cognito), and storage.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Emails contain your name, email address, and application or payout summaries.
- Other creators — your leaderboard alias and ranking are visible to all logged-in creators. Your real name is never shown unless you choose it as your alias. If another creator referred you, we store a link between your account and theirs.
We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers.
4. International transfers
Data is stored and processed in the United States. For creators in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, transfers rely on the processors' standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
5. Retention
- Application and account data: for the life of your account.
- Rejected or withdrawn applications: retained for review history; you may request erasure at any time.
- After account deletion: your profile is deactivated and marked deleted. Name, email, sales, and payout records are retained for as long as required for tax and payment reconciliation (up to 7 years), then erased or anonymized.
- Leaderboard history: retained indefinitely under your alias only.
6. Your rights
You can access and correct most of your data in Settings. You may request a copy of your data, correction, erasure (subject to the retention obligations above), restriction, or portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest, by emailing info@vail0.com. Creators in the EEA/UK may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. Deleting your account is available at any time from Settings.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage only to keep you signed in (authentication tokens) and to remember in-progress form state. There are no third-party cookies or tracking pixels.
8. Changes
We will post updates to this page and change the date above. Material changes will be announced by email to active creators.
